Come and enliven the sullen souls with soothing notes of music in the full moon weekend in the snow-draped Gulmarg! Harvesting the dividends of peace, Kashmir is hosting country’s first ever Winter Music and Adventure Festival.
Musical potpourri, film festival, adventure sports and food and cultural extravaganza are all lined up in the three day festival starting Friday. Organised by Soul Curators and Synapses Adventures with Support of Jammu and Kashmir tourism department, the festival is aimed at promoting peace, unity and sending across positive vibes of love and amity.
“We want to send across a positive message. Since the music festival is being held here (Gulmarg), it automatically conveys a positive message regardless what we have heard (about Kashmir)”, said Vivek Benipal, organiser of the Festival.
Around 2,000 guests from country and abroad are flocking to famed winter resort of Gulmarg to witness the festival where 18 musical bands of repute will perform.
Ranging from Classical, Folk, Sufi, Jazz, Jams, Collaborations, Blues, Rock, Indie bands and Fusion, the musical extravaganza will showcase some of the best and upcoming talents including Raghu Dixit, Rishi Inc, Hashback Hashish and other bands.
The musical festival will also feature local artists who will be showcasing the rich musical and cultural heritage of Kashmir. It will be complimented by the film festival in which documentaries showcasing art of life, music and adventure sports will be shown.
For the foodies, there will be 14 food courts where traditional foods will be served to showcase rich gourmet of Kashmir. For a change, Glumarg will be the shoppers delight too with Flea Bazaar selling some of the finest handicrafts, jewelry, accessories meticulously crafted by the artisans of Kashmir.
The icing on the cake will be the adventure sports which is synonymous with Gulmarg. Snowboarding, skiing, zorbing, paintball, and a lot of other fun and recreational activities will all be lined up at the festival.
