Panchgani is a quite and delightful hill station situated at an altitude of approx. 1335 m and is just 98 km from Pune in Maharashtra and 16 km from Mahabaleshwar. Swoops around bends with abandon, offering heart stopping views of the river Krishna on one side and the coastal plains on the other. The twin hill-stations of Panchgani have an undying allure that continues to attract hordes of tourists each year. In the evening, it turns out to a makeshift fair with ferris wheels, pony rides and a large number of food stalls. The ride through the hamlets, farms and ravines with the beautiful greens and the ravishing river Krishna of Panchgani will surely fascinate you. There are loads of places that are must watch. A well-known Ganesh Temple is located close by in Wai. Table Land is a flat stretch of laterite rock and the second longest mountain plateau in Asia. Some wider caves including the “Devil’s Kitchen” can be seen from here. Tapola is yet another enjoyable water sports centre. One can also enjoy eating Strawberries with cream, which are served at various joints located on the road to Mahabaleshwar – Panchgani and on the lake.
